Ronald E. "Gene'' Cressley, 78 of Juneau went home to be with Jesus, Sunday, May 21, 2017 with his family at his side at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Gene was born December 21, 1938 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Ralph E. and Velma (White) Cressley.

He was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church. Gene loved going to the Mahoning Hills Senior Center and visiting with his many friends there. He also attended Camp Friendship for many years where he enjoyed all of the activities. Gene loved visiting all his gracious friends and neighbors in his Juneau community who loved him dearly. He also enjoyed delivering the Grit to his friends in Upper and lower Juneau.He was a Great Joy to his entire family.

He is survived by two brothers; Boyd Cressley and wife Nancy of Punxsutawney, Fred Cressley of Rochester Mills, six sisters; Norma "Teck" Riddle and husband Clayton "Ham" of Rossiter, Cookie Michael and Bill Carney of Punxsutawny, Lois Pearce and husband Joseph of Rossiter, Linda Farmery of Rochester Mills, Jackie Temchulla and husband Terry of Cloe and Pam Sprankle and husband Doug of Valier. Sister in law' Clara Cressley of Punxsutawney.

Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Merle Cressley, brother's and sister's in law; Sherwin Farmery, Jim Michael, Pat Cressley and Kay Cressley.

Friends will be received from 4-8 pm Wednesday, May 24th at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. Additional viewing will be held Thursday, May 25th at the funeral home from 10 until 11 am, time of service with Rev. Don Brauer officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Rossiter.
