Mary Louise Dettling, 71, of Latrobe, died unexpectedly Tuesday October 17, 2017 at her home. She was born August 30, 1946 in Latrobe a daughter of the late Michael Zemba Sr. and Helen M. Shuster Zemba.

She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Bradenville and the Ladies Guild. She retired from H&R Block in New Alexandria and also belonged to the NewAlexandria Lions Club and the Kingston Vets Auxillary.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Dettling in 1992.

Mary Louise is survived by her son Jeff Dettling of Bradenville and her daughter Kathy Bates (Dennis) of Derry. Two brothers; Michael Stephen Zemba (Fay) and Patrick Allen Zemba (Vicky) all of Derry. Two sisters; Phyllis Ann Barger of Derry and Mickey Bridge (Tom) of New Derry. Five grandchildren; Melissa Jennings (John), Carrie Watson (Ramell), Zack Bates, Cody and Shannon Bates. 5 great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews and her faithful companion Doc.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 6-8pm and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A Parastas service will be held Thursday at 7pm and the Panachida service Friday at 9:15am in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Divine Liturgy at 10am in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Bradenville.

The ladies guild will recite the rosary Thursday at 5:30pm in the funeral home

Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery, Derry.
