Robert G. Carney, 75, of New Alexandria died Monday May 8, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. He was born October 21, 1941 in McKees Rocks a son of the late Robert G. and Beatrice L. McCaulley Carney.

Bob had retired after 42 years of service from DANA Inc. of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Family was the most important thing in life to Bob.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Marty Carney, two brothers; Harry W. and Ronald Lee Carney.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Fatora Baker Carney of New Alexandria, his son Robert G. Carney III of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, two daughters; Amy Solaro of Pleasant Lake, Indiana and Melissa Lee Gee (Brian) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Three stepchildren: Monaca J. Yothers (Thomas) of Norvelt, Brenda M. Harr (George) of Latrobe and Daniel S. Baker (Liana) of Solon, Ohio. Seven grandchildren; Robert G. Carney IV, Catherine Elaine Danilchev (Allen), Erin Carney, Allison and JD Solaro, Brandon and Brody Gee. One great grandchild Astrid Carney. Seven step grandchildren; Daniella Tilley, Shawn, Joshua, Trevor Baker, Colin, Cameron Yothers and Sophie Baker.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 11am in the St. James Roman Catholic Church of New Alexandria with Monsignor Larry J. Kulick J.C.L., VG., as celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to Mutual Aid Ambulance Service Inc., 561 W. Otterman Street, Greensburg, PA 15601.
