Ruth Johnson- Kozar 71, of Derry Twp. died Tuesday January 10, 2017 after a brief illness in Excela Westmoreland Hospital.

She was born December 13, 1945 in Latrobe a daughter of the late Jesse and Mae Jones Stickle.

Ruth was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She loved her home, taking care of her yard and feeding the wildlife that came to visit. She was always ready to shop and travel, as she loved to do both.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son David Johnson, a grandson Curtis Chappell, a sister Betty Frederick and her brother Philip Stickle.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband Ronald J. Kozar, 2 sons; William "BJ" Johnson, and Daniel Johnson (Janice) all of Derry Twp. A step daughter Lisa Mentch (Joshua) of Derry Twp; a sister Ginger Warren (Don) of Latrobe. Three grandchildren; Scott Chappell, Jessica and Kristine Johnson. Three step grandchildren Emma, Cora and Kaci Mentch. Several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Thursday from 6-8pm and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11am in the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Latrobe with Reverend William A. Schaefer officiating. (Everyone please go directly to the church) Interment will follow in the Coles Cemetery, Derry.
