Alice Sprankle Obituary

Alice T. Sprankle, age 85, of Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital. Alice was born July 22, 1932 in Punxsutawney. She was a daughter of the late Harry and Christine (Steffy) Beatty. September 2, 1955, she married her beloved husband; Leroy Sprankle who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by their daughter; Vickie Sprankle and their son; Greg Sprankle and his wife Judy and one brother; Jackson Beatty, brother in law & sister in law; Bill and Pat Neville. Alice was a member of the Covode United Methodist Church. She was very involved in the Mahoning Hills Social Center where she spent much time with her friends. She loved going camping, working in her garden, hunting, sewing, quilting and caring for her two cats. Alice is survived by one son; David Sprankle and wife Rose Ann of Punxsutawney, one daughter; Kimberly Godo and husband Howard of Punxsutawney, four grandchildren; Jonathan, Donald, Anthony & Christopher Sprankle, two great grandchildren; Kaden and Samantha Sprankle and two foster daughters; JulieAnn Jeffords and son of Ohio and Amy Fetterman and husband David and daughters of Brookville. Brother in law & sister in law; Ron and Emma Sprankle, brother in law & sister in law; Everett and Dorothy Gaul and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Covode United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Prevot officiating. Interment is private for immediate family at Lakelawn Memorial Park. Please make memorial donations to the Covode United Methodist Church, 575 Knox Road, Rochester Mills, PA. 15771.
