Anna C. Downey

Anna C. Downey, 91, of Derry died Wednesday October 24, 2018 in the Bethlen Home, Ligonier. She was born July 3, 1927 in Latrobe a daughter of the late Michael Rick Sr. and Anna C. Balluch Rick.

Anna was a life long member of St. Martin Roman Catholic Church in New Derry. She retired from the Derry Area School District.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis W. Downey in 1998, a brother Michael Rick Jr., two sisters; Ellen Penich and Mary Prah and step children Thomas Downey and Virginia Kelly.

She is survived by her step daughter and caretaker Patricia Stratton of Derry, three step sons; Robert Downey (Mary Margaret) of New Alexandria, Richard Downey (Lois) of Latrobe and Ronald Downey of Derry. Numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Sunday from 4-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue Derry. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 9:30am in St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church, New Derry with the Rev. Father Salvatore Lamendola as celebrant. Interment will be made in the St. Martin Church Cemetery.

The Rosary Altar Society will recite the rosary Sunday at 6pm in the funeral home.
