Annabelle Neal Obituary

Annabelle Neal, 88 of Sportsburg, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital. Annabelle was born February 17, 1930 in Syracuse, NY. She was a daughter of the late George A. And Alpha (Hazelett) Smith. She was a member of the Sportsburg United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 51 years. She liked reading and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She was married to the late Thomas E. Neal. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Mark and Harry Smith. She is survived by two daughters; Linda Behrendt and husband William of Smicksburg and Diane Behrendt and husband James of Lincoln Park, MI. Three brothers; George Smith, Jr. of Virginia, Robert Smith and wife Tara of Harris, MO., Max Smith of Vandergrift and three sisters; Betty DeVan and husband Gary of Salem, OH., Sally Jones and husband Thomas of DuBois and Susan Suhm and husband Randall of Sweetwater, TX. Four grandchildren; Heather and husband Andrew Martin, Jr., Todd Behrendt, Michael Behrendt and wife Amy, Laura Hostetter and husband Ryan. Eight grandchildren; Colin and Logan Martin, Anthony and Amelia Behrendt, Ty Behrendt, Lucy Hawk and Braden and Bryce Hostetter. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday, February 11, 2019 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 12th at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Topar officiating. Private interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery.
