Brian Gross Obituary

Brian J. "Gus" Gross, 57, of Ligonier (Fairfield Township) passed away Monday February 5, 2018, when he suffered a medical emergency while driving his vehicle near his home.

He was born July 9, 1960, in Latrobe a son of the late John W. "Jack" and Ann Kittey Gross.

Brian was a 1978 graduate of Ligonier Valley High School. He owned his own business for many years, Gross Lawn Care, and worked for Laurel Nursery, Mountain View Interiors, Stickley Furinuture, and had been employed for the past four years at Sharky's Cafe in Latrobe where he considered all his friends as "his family". Brian had been a customer since Sharky's Cafe opened its doors and was an original member of the Sharky's Happy Hour Crew.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Deborah Gross, his paternal grandparents Gust and Mary Gross, his maternal grandparents Anna and Charles Kittey, three aunts; Marge Topeka, Rose Lape and Sylvia Kvochko, and an uncle George Kittey.

Brian is survived by his stepmother Jane Neiderhiser Gross, stepbrothers, Edward, Michael and Andrew (Charlene) Nicely; stepsister, Colleen Springer (Frank), four aunts, Irene Zajdel (William) of South Greensburg, Elizabeth Thomas of Ligonier, Kay Roddy (Lowell) of Waterford and Mary Nicholson of O'Fallon, Missouri; an uncle Steve Kittey (Becky) of Latrobe. A large number cousins including his closest cousin Chuck Thomas of Jeannette.

Sharky's Cafe will host a special remembrance service beginning 3pm Sunday February 18, 2018.
