Dolores Kestner Obituary

Dolores Ruth Kestner, 83, of Laughlintown, formerly of Derry died Tuesday March 26, 2019. She was born January 17, 1936 in Latrobe a daughter of the late Michael and Ruth Hamilton Schmucker.

She was a member of the Derry First United Methodist Church. A very loving mother who enjoyed gardening and baking. She was known as "Grandma Cookie."

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Larry Schmucker.

She is survived by her loving husband Barry T. Kestner. Her children; Sharon Stump of Salvo, NC, Barry Kestner of Stahlstown, Carol Miller of Derry, Karl Kestner (Joy) of Murrells Inlet, SC, Susan Samella (John) of Latrobe, Sally Henry (Blake) of Somerset, Erin Nicely (Kevin) of Derry and Dolores Davis (Rick) of Laughlintown. A brother Michael Schmucker of Latrobe, 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Friday from 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 11am in the Derry First United Methodist Church with her pastor the Reverend Ron Emery officiating. (Everyone is asked to go directly to the church) Private interment will be made in the Coles Cemetery, Derry.
