Floyd E. Burd, 74, of Derry, PA passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Loyalhanna Care Center.

He was the son of Emmett and Thelma (Montique) Burd, born on September 18, 1942 in Latrobe, PA.

Floyd was a PAL for many years at the Derry Area School District and he loved to bake.  Floyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen (Hayes) Burd of Derry; four children, Dwayne Burd (Lisa) of Blairsville, Dee Blystone (Tom) of Derry, David Burd and fiancé Anna Todd of Latrobe, Douglas Burd (Jennifer) of Butler; five grandchildren, Coutney Dukich, Thomas Blystone III, David Burd Jr., Sarah Burd, Owen Burd; one great-grandchild, Samuel Dukich; one brother, John Burd  and friend Judy Starry of Blairsville; one sister-in-law, Kay Burd of Pleasant Unity and many nieces and nephews.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Emery Burd.

The family would like to thank Loyalhanna Care staff and Medi Home Hospice for all of the wonderful care and support.

Friends will be received on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 12 pm to 1 pm at the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry, Floyd’s service will follow at 1 pm.  Interment will be private.
