Barry D. Thiel

Barry Dexter Thiel, 70, died peacefully, Sunday, October 27, 2024 in his home.  He was born June 14, 1954 in Ligonier, a son of the late Vincent E Thiel and Lois Hay Thiel. Barry was a dedicated member of Cornerstone Ministries and was known for his kind and serving spirit.  Prior to retirement Barry worked in Ligonier as a HVAC Manager, served in his church and loved coaching basketball at Ligonier School District. He attended the University of Findlay where he played football. During football season you could always count on finding Barry watching Penn State, Notre Dame and the Steelers in his favorite recliner. Barry cherished spending his Saturday mornings catching up over breakfast with his friends from highschool as well as his evenings with friends he made at his churches small group meetings.

He is survived by wife his wife of 19 years, Nancy Thiel; his children Justin Thiel his wife Holly and their children; Allison Thiel her husband Lou McQuaide and their children, Kinley, Colton, and Beckett; step daughters Carolyn Thase her husband John and their children Ethan and Connor; Angela Greenawalt her husband Ron and their children, Sebastian, Christian, Devon, Brittany, Jayden, and Madelyn; brothers, Jack Thiel (Bonnie), Denny Thiel (Bonnie), and the late Don; also many, aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.  

There will be no memorial or funeral service per Barry's request.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Ministries, 2200 Cornerstone Ln, Murrysville.
