Betty L. Highberger

Betty Leah Highberger, 81, of Leesburg, FL died Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Advent Health Waterman Hospital. She was born June 30th, 1944, in Latrobe, P.A., a daughter of the late Merle and Sarah Roadman Weimer. She grew up in Ligonier as a Pastor’s daughter with her siblings, John, Tom, and Nancy. She was married to Dean Highberger and was married for 60 years. They moved from Pennsylvania to Florida and later retired as the owners of Integrity Bulk Mail Service in Florida.

Her life will be cherished by her children; daughter, Denise Rhoads of Ligonier PA.; daughter, Arlene Hostetler and husband, David of Irwin, PA; and son, Brian Highberger and wife, Jenni of Leesburg, FL.; four granddaughters; Rachel, Lindsey, Danielle, and Niki; three great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

She will forever be remembered for her kind spirit, generosity, cake making skills, love of games, puzzles, crafts, adventurous spirit and her devotion to Jesus Christ. She was affectionately referred to as G-ma by her Grandchildren and Nana by her great grandchildren.

Friends will be received Friday, November 28th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the MCCABE FUNERAL HOME, 144 East Main St., Ligonier,  and again starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 29th, with the service following at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Bunney officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.
