Christopher Michael Hartman

Christopher Michael Hartman 53 passed away at Latrobe Independence Health on May 1st 2025 due to a prolonged illness. 

Born in Latrobe to the late Helen Bier (Miller) and Alan Hartman. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents on both sides, George Bier who was there for him and was everything a dad could have been. Michael took care of George when he was sick and never wavered with utmost devotion. 

He is survived by his wife Melissa (Peipock) daughter Makayla Jane (his Princess), daughter Mariah Headley (Myles) Roswell NM, Jakob Berger Ligonier Pa, Devin Hartman (Kylee Buterbaugh). Ligonier Pa. Grandchildren- Owen, Elijah, Braxtyn and Brynlee, Brothers- Ray Hartman (who was always will be his best friend) (Penney) Ligonier, Sean Bier (Tete) Latrobe, a cousin who was a sister (his NAD) Kathy Sheaffer (Jeremy)nieces- Taylor and Reese Hartman, Elise Sheaffer, Jackson Sheaffer, RJ and Grant Bier, Bryanna Bier, special little one Sheaffer due in September, and some really great friends. 

He was employed with Latrobe Specialty Steel from 2005-2025 even though he was out due to a work -related injury from 2017-2025. He was a grinder and charge builder VIM/VAR.

He loved being with his wife, daughters, sons, brothers, nieces and nephews and 4 grandbabies, being a "Pappy" to all 4 kids was a great time in his life. 

He was always the greatest dad to all 4 kids and will always be with each and every one of them in his own way but choosing me to be his wife and combining our families together we were not step he would always say our kids as a whole and he loved each and every one of them they will carry him with them in their own way! He was an amazing friend who would help anyone he could. He was such a joker and he always knew how to make everyone laugh and the silly faces he would make you knew that he was it!

He was and will always be my soul mate and best friend. He accepted me the way I came and that there was true love as I accepted him. 

At Christopher "Mikes" request there will be no funeral. Cremation will be handled by McCabe Funeral Home Ligonier.

So Makayla and I can navigate the future on our own and yes it will be covered but due to his illness (workman's comp case is no more) so there is more to this than anyone knows, He tried to take care of everything but there was not enough time, So this is about us this Hartman family Michael's wife and daughter!
