He was a 1968 graduate of Derry Area High School, California State College (1972) and Indiana University of Pennsylvania (1977 & 1990) Dr. Bush was previously employed as a psychologist and supervisor of special education for the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit. Other than his children, grandchildren, siblings, companions, friends and his profession, Dr. Bush's greatest love was playing baseball. He was an original member of the Latrobe-Derry Old Timer's Baseball league and continued playing until his legs and lungs totally gave way. He also was a frequent attendee at the Pittsburgh Pirate Fantasy Camp in Pirate City, Florida where he loved to play the game with and for former Pittsburgh Pirate team members. This love of the game was instilled in him by his father at a very young age. It was his belief that he will now be playing baseball "on the other side" with his father and various friends. He will be in his "Field of Dreams".
He was an optimistic individual who tried to see the best in others and assist them in their journey through life via his therapy and friendship. He loved life and the company of friends at the Spaghetti Bender's Club at Mannitto Golf Club, his partner in private practice William O. Hahn Ph.D., his various team mates, various members of the Class of 1968, his life long friends John and Mary Lindh, and his various later life female companions. He was fond of traveling to the Carribean, the Gulf Coast, Sedona, AZ, Las Vegas and Key West, playing the guitar, listening to great blues at Speals, driving sports cars, boating, golfing and watching beautiful sunsets while sipping wine with a beautiful woman. He definitely appreciated all of God's wondrous creations and was in awe with the beauty of life. He considered his life to be "A Great Ride".
