David B. Chamberlain, 59, of Derry passed away Saturday June 27, 2026 at IHS Latrobe Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer since August of 2022. He was born December 15, 1966 in Latrobe a son of the late Edgar H. and Jean Marie Kozar Chamberlain.
He was a 1985 graduate of Derry Area High School and had worked at the Latrobe Stone Quarry, Chestnut Ridge Foam and Pace Industries . From 1986-1996 he belonged to the Derry VFD. An avid Pitt, Penguin, Steeler and Pirate fan he coached his children in soccer, baseball and basketball youth sports. He loved playing golf when he could find time and showed his daughter the love of golf. During his illness he never complained, always pushing through the bad times to manage some good times. He was always there for his wife, family and friends no matter the situation.
He is survived by his loving wife of over twenty-seven years Colleen Gruska Chamberlain, his children; Allie C., Carson D. and Dawson E. Chamberlain all of Derry, sisters; Gloria J. Dell (Bob) of Greensburg and Paula A. Rager (Greg) of Derry, brothers; Edward M. Chamberlain (Karen) of Latrobe, Jeffrey M. Chamberlain (Mary) of Nevada, Iowa and Timothy R. Chamberlain (Dawn) of Apollo, mother and father-in laws Frances and Stanley Gruska, his canine friends Shadow and Daphne, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry where his funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 pm with the Reverend William Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow in the Coles Cemetery, Derry.
