David Hughes Obituary

David C. Hughes, 94, of Derry, died peacefully Sunday November 10, 2024, at his home. He was born August 12, 1930, in Cokeville, a son of the late William G. and Margaret I. Plowman Hughes.
David was a lifelong member of the Hillside United Methodist Church, where he had been baptized, raised and remained very active. He was a Past Master and member of LaMonte Lodge #568 F&AM, Derry and had retired from Torrance State Hospital.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Clara Dixon Hughes, a son Rev. David N. Hughes, an infant son and his brother William G. Hughes Jr. and his sister Catherine Isabelle Hoone.
He is survived by his wife Judith Kaeff Hughes, a son Rev. Kevin E. Hughes and his wife Rev. Jan Hughes of Shippensburg, daughters; Marie Cook (Scott) of Johnstown, Rebecca Hart (Dustin) of Greensburg, Elizabeth Carns (Daniel) of Herminie and Deirdre Perry of Greensburg , a sister Peggy Hughes O'Hara (William) of Latrobe, a daughter in law Tayna Hughes-White (Dennis) and grandchildren; Kelly Hughes, Joshua Hughes (April), Heather Dreese (Derrick), Jessica Barnes (Jason), Matt Hughes (Katelyn), Levi Cook, Natalie and Andrew Carns and Dax Perry, great grandchildren; Beau Barnes, Alyssa and Lauren Kubistek and Stefani Dreese, two great great grandchildren Tessa and Waylon Schaum, many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday 6-8pm and Friday 9:30- 10:30 am at the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry.  A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 am at the Hillside United Methodist Church. Interment will be made in the Hillside Cemetery.
LaMonte Lodge #568 F&AM will conduct a service Thursday at 6:30pm in the funeral home.
