Deborah "Debbie" McCain

Deborah “Debbie” Neal McCain went to be with Jesus on April 30, 2023 at age 70. She was born to Catherine “LaVerne” and Charles Neal on December 28, 1952. After graduating from Elizabeth Forward High School, Debbie attended Robert Morris University and earned her Associate’s in Secretarial Science.

Debbie met the love of her life, John L. McCain, Jr. while working for Equitable, and they became one on September 1, 1979. She leaves behind John, their two children Jay McCain (Julie), and Lin Podolinsky (Zachary); six brilliant grandchildren who inherited their smarts from her: Anna Crum (Logan), Lily McCain, Jack McCain, Terry Podolinsky, Gwendolyn Podolinsky, and Lincoln Podolinsky; her sister Cathy Jordan (Larry), devoted friend Paula Seftas (Jeff), and faithful canine companion Kookie. Debbie was predeceased by her parents, brothers Charles and Terry Neal, and friend Carrie Vinski.

Debbie loved cooking and baking for her family at holidays, and she never had a turkey dinner that wasn’t made to perfection. Her stuffing was heavenly! She also would never cease to surround her holiday tables with individuals who had need for a place to be. She lived selflessly, and without fail put everyone else’s needs before her own.

A celebration of life memorial service is scheduled for 5:30 pm on May 30, 2023 at John’s and her Ligonier home with a backyard reception to follow.
