Denise Marie Smith

On Tuesday the world lost an amazing soul. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Marie Smith, 64 of Blairsville, PA, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 18, 2025. Born on March 26, 1960 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, she was a devoted wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and warmth. 

The Daughter of James and Laura Chappell, she is proceeded in death by her father, her daughter, Jennifer Smith; and her nephews William and Curtis Chappell. 

Denise is survived by her husband of 48 years, Oliver Smith; her son Jamie Smith; daughter-in-law Jessica Smith; her four grandchildren Haley Smith, Kyrsten Noftz, Jaylen Roadman and Tory Smith. She is also survived by her Mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friend Lynn.

Denise loved her family and devoted to each and everyone one of them. She loved to craft and paint decorations for each member. She loved having all her kids and grandkids around especially at holidays where she would make sure to have all kinds of fun activities planned creating lots of great memories and laughter. 

Following the wishes of Denise there will be no viewing or services. Flowers will be received by the family and any donations can be made to the Hillman Cancer Center for their exceptional care of our loved one.
