Donna Banas Montagnino, 65, of Tampa, FL (formerly Derry) passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, after a sudden illness. She was born on June 27, 1960, to the late John and Martha Lepley (Toots) Banas. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jack, as well as her first cousin, Monsignor Michael Matusak.
Donna was a hair stylist her entire life. She was also an avid Steeler fan and was well known as “Pittsburgh Donna” or “PD.” Donna was strong-willed, a caring/loving wife and friend to all. In addition to spending time with family and friends, whom she cherished with her whole heart, her other enjoyments in life were attending the Pittsburgh Steeler Camp for the past fifty-four years, attending Bret Michaels concerts and visiting as many stadiums as possible to see her beloved Steelers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Thomas Montagnino, first cousins John Hill (Michelle), Fran Hill, Dorothy Hill Basay, Linda and Jerry Ladd, and numerous close friends. She also held a special place in her heart for Sister Carrie Zagurskie.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, April 17, 2026, from 6 pm to 9 pm at Saint Anthony Society, 1316 High Street, Bradenville PA 15620. Donna was also honored at a Celebration of Life in Tampa, FL at O'Brien's Irish Pub from 5 pm to 7 pm on March 27, 2026.
Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 117 S. Ligonier Street, Derry, PA 15627.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
