Dorothy D. Herrington

Dorothy D. Herrington, 95, of Rector, died Monday February 17, 2025 at Independence Health Latrobe. She was born January 23, 1930 in Brownsville a daughter of the late William Roy and Helen Bennett Deven.
Dorothy had worked as a teachers aide in the Ligonier Valley School District. She was a loving and caring person who was very devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bruce S. Herrington, a daughter Deborah A. Dickinson, her brother William Deven and two sisters Eleanor Storey and Jane Sargent.
She is survived by her son B. Wakefield Herrington (Alison) of Ligonier, daughter Jane A. Bruggink (Wes) of Plum, granddaughters Madison Paige and Morgan Elizabeth, sisters; Mary Vasiloff of Brownsville, Nancy Birkle of Groton Connecticut, and Jean Hancock of Catonsville, Maryland, a sister-in-law Vera Deven of Silver Springs, Maryland, several nieces and nephews.
Services were private for the family with her burial in the St. Michaels Cemetery, Rector.
McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier was in charge of arrangements.
