Duane L. "Goose" Ankney

Duane L. "Goose" Ankney, 86, of Derry passed away August 14, 2024, in the Loyalhanna Caere Center, Latrobe.  He was born March 23,1938, in Derry Township, a son of the late Lemon and Sarah Elizabeth (Wedge) Ankney.  Duane is survived by his loving wife Anna Mae (Harbaugh) Ankney, and a niece Rita Conrad (Ronald) of Seger, a brother Ronald Ankney (Paula) of Latrobe, a sister Hazel M. Byers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Goose had worked for Wilbert Vault Company for many years.
He was  preceded in death by nine brothers Edward W., Albert E. "Dean", Kenneth R. "Bill", John, Donald, Charles, Arthur, Norman, and Robert Ankney, four sisters Grace E. Johnston, Betty Jane Guiher, Helen Mascilak and Sarah Mickey.
Family will receive friends Friday August 16, from 11 to 1pm the time of service in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry.  Interment will follow in Snowball Cemetery, Stahlstown.
