Earl R. Gess

Earl R. Gess, 79 of Derry passed away Monday, March 23, 2026 at his home. He was born May 19, 1946, in Derry township a son of the late Clyde D. Gess and A. Ruth (Ray) Gess Wainright. Earl is survived by his son Brian R. Gess and wife Amy of Bradenville, his daughter Amy L, Gess of Commodore, three grandchildren Austin Painter, Gabriel and Benjamin Gess, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen A. (Glitsky) Gess, a brother Glenn B. Gess and a sister Nancy Spear. Earl was a member of the Fairmont Free Gospel Church. He was formerly employed by Kennametal and enjoyed the outdoors, always looking to fish or hunt. He loved yard sales and had his own grocery shopping routine. Earl was always willing to help people especially his family.

Family will receive friends Thursday, March 26 from 4 to 7pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Ave, Derry where a service will be held at 11 AM Friday.
Interment will be made in the Fairmont Cemetery.
