Edith R. Jones

Edith R. Jones passed away January30, 2019 at her home. She was born July 23, 1931 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Mary Robinson Welsh Voucht and George T. Welsh.

She graduated from Derry Borough High School in 1949 with highest honors. After high school she attended Seton Hill College. Edith was a life member of the Derry First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and served as children's Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Derry Historical Society.

Prior to her marriage to Frank R. Jones in 1953 she worked for American Airlines.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Maloy and many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

Edie is survived by her children; Thomas M. (Charlotte R.) Jones of Little River, SC; Mark R. Jones of Derry and Judith D. Boors (Terry) of Connellsville. Grandchildren; Cody Boors (Lindsay), Lyndsey Boors, Rachel Comp (Justin) and Michael Meloy (Crystal). Great grandchildren include Maisie and Harry Sirianni, Lillian Stoner and Lexi Delaney.

Friends will be received Sunday fron 12-4pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry where a service will be conducted Monday at 11am. Private interment will be made in the Coles Cemetery, Derry.
