Edward G. Byers

Edward G. Byers, 94 of Derry, passed away March 4, 2025, at IHS Latrobe. He was born February 9, 1931, in Derry a son of the late Joseph and Irene Stemmler Byers. Ed was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Derry and had retired after 28 years from Newcomer Products. Ed was known for his great sense of humor and always had a real-life story to tell. For many years he and his son Pat painted together. Many of Ed's enjoyments came from going to camp in Marienville, trout fishing and hunting.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Henderson Byers, his brothers Joseph S. and James C. Byers, a grandson Trey Skiff and a son-in-law Stephen J. Cinibulk.

He is survived by his children; Janet Skiff (Rod) of Spartinsburg, Patrick E. Byers (JoAnne) of Derry, Donna Cinibulk (Denny) of Loyalhanna and Michael A. Byers (Heidi) of Hillside, grandchildren; Allison Skiff, Hailey and Cassie Byers, Lori Tedesco (Travis), Timothy Martin (Laura) and Arthur Martin Jr. (Sue), great grandchildren; Zia Tedesco, Kyle, Kellie Jo and Ryleigh Martin, special nephew Wayne Henderson (Dale) of Boise, Idaho, special friend Dave Gregory of McKees Rocks, several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Friday from 4-7 pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry where a service will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 pm with his pastor the Rev. William A. Schaeffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Coles Cemetery, Derry.
