Edward F. Pelger 87, of Ligonier passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday September 17, 2025. He was born June 7, 1938 in Homestead, PA, a son of the late Edward and Lois (Billups) Pelger. He graduated from South Hills High School in 1957. Edward served his country as a member of the United States Air Force Reserves. He is survived by his loving wife Carol (Kaufman) Pelger his children; Daniel Pelger (Kimberly) of Ligonier, Laurie Albright (Steven) of N. Huntington, Ten grandchildren Richard(Gabrielle), Andrew, Joseph and Angela Wolf, Katie Albright, Rachel Albright, Kyle Albright and Carrie (Denver) Hoak,Hannah (Justin) Hegedus and Abigail Pelger and her fiancé Zack Zimmerman, and one great granddaughter Riley Wolf, and a sister Corrine Ward. Ed is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Leslie Wolf.
He retired as an International Vice President of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. He served many positions with the Local #12 Union in Pittsburgh. He was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon. He went on mission trips to Betsy Lane, Kentucky, Jamaica and Biloxi. He served on the Ligonier Valley Endowment. He loved wood working, sailing, football and golf.
Family will receive friends Friday September 19, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the McCabe Funeral Home 144 East Main St. , Ligonier . A funeral service will be conducted in the Pioneer Presbyterian Church, Ligonier at 11 Am Saturday, with David Kenyon officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairmont Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
