Effie M. "EF" Horner

Effie M. "EF" Horner, 79, of Ligonier passed away Friday July 12, 2024 at Concordia at Bethlen, Ligonier. She was born April 19, 1945 in Ligonier Township a daughter of the late Frank and Helen Graver Palmer.
EF was a member of the Laurel Highlands Church of Christ and had sung in a gospel group "The Joy Bells" along with her mother and sisters for many years. Many of her enjoyments in life came from her family, singing, playing the piano, cooking, crocheting and the computer.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters; Deloris M. "Dort" Lynn, Nellie Crowe, and Jean Whetzel, her brother George Palmer and a grandson Jeffrey W. Horner Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 61 years Tracey Horner, her three sons; Barry Horner (Jackie) of Dillsburg, PA, Jeffrey W. Horner (Suzie) of Punxsutawney and James Horner (Kim) of Ligonier, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier where a service will be conducted Wednesday at 11am. Interment will follow in the Menoher Cemetery.
