Eugenia D. "Genie" Farrell

Eugenia D. "Genie" Farrell, 76, formerly of Ligonier, died Sunday January 19, 2025. She was born August 23, 1948 in Latrobe a daughter of the late George B. and Patricia Seubert Farrell.
Genie had been a rural route mail carrier for many years in Ligonier. She was an avid knitter who enjoyed playing the organ and had previously played at many local churches.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Gerard "Aug" and Patrick "Mac" Farrell and her second husband Carl B. Knopsnyder.
She is survived by her children; Melanie Reinauer of Mount Pleasant, Natalie Fry (Mark) of Latrobe and Edward Shaulis (Chris Ann) of Butler, her brother James Farrell (Chomi) of Williamsburg, VA, a sister Anne Shultz (Jim) of Ligonier, Ed Shaulis the father of her children, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2-3 pm at the McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier where her service will be conducted at 3 pm with the reverend Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating.
