Frederick Nipps Obituary

Frederick L. Nipps of Ligonier passed away Thursday, October 26th, 2023. He was born July 15th, 1936; son of Charles and Susanna Nipps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law William and Darry Nipps, his nephew, Richard Nipps, nephew and niece Bill and Valerie Nipps, and brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Jean Mahan. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Dowen Nipps, 3 loving daughters. Cindy Shaffer (Kevin), Kathy Nipps (Grayland), and Kim Feeley (Tim), 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and brother-in-law, Bob Dowen.

Fred was a biology teacher and home and school visitor for the Ligonier Valley School District. Fred enjoyed golfing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was an avid reader and was a frequent visitor at the Ligonier library.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday, October 30th, 2023 at 11 AM at the Heritage Methodist Church of Ligonier.

Interment will be made in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
