George M. Phillippi

George M. Phillippi, 90, of Derry, died Thursday September 23, 2021 in Excela Latrobe Hospital. He was born January 26, 1931 in Derry a son of the late George M. and Susan Ritz Phillippi.
George was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Derry. He was a US Army Veteran and had retired from Vulcan Mold. He was a former president and long time member of the Derry Ukranian Club and belonged to several other local clubs. Spending time at his camp in Cameron County and being with family and friends were special times for him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sons'; Steven, George Michael "Mick" and Anthony "Tony" Phillippi.
Surviving are his wife Janet Cromling Phillippi, his son Robert "Bob" Phillippi (Donna) of Loyalhanna, four daughters; Kay Lehman (John) of Santa Fe, Texas, Susan Darazio (Larry) of Bradenville, Mary Beth Kirkpatrick (Ron) of Derry and Lisa Tobias (Anthony) of Ligonieer. Three sisters; Maryann Nipar and Nancy Garris of Latrobe and Kathy Constantine of Derry. His brother William Phillippi (April) of Derry, seventeen grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A blessing service will be conducted Monday at 10am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The Latrobe - Derry Veterans Honor Guard will conduct a service on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 9:45 AM.
