George E. Stanislaw, 98, of Fairfield Twp., died Wednesday February 28, 2024 at his home.
He was born April 22, 1925 in Fort Palmer, a son of the late John and Helen Shirilla Stanislaw.
He had been a long time member of Saint John The Baptist Orthodox Church in Wilpen, was a proud WWII Army Veteran Staff Sargent having served in the Pacific and was a self-employed dairy farmer and truck driver.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary Barbus and Ann Nicely, two brothers Charles and John Stanislaw.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years Rita Vasinko Stanislaw, his sons; Ronald E. Stanislaw (Maria del Pilar Barrera Rey) of Mineral, VA and Roger A. Stanislaw (Trella) of Fairfield Twp., three sisters; Vernie West of Ligonier, Helen Cicirello (Sal) of Chesterland, OH and Emma Jean Corrin of Manhattan, NY, two granddaughters; Rebecca Stanislaw and Emily Eichler (Will) and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier.
A Panachida service will be conducted Friday at 2:30pm in the funeral home and his Funeral Service will be celebrated Saturday at 10am in Saint John The Baptist Orthodox Church with The Very Reverend Protopresbyter Frank Miloro as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. John Church Cemetery.

The Ligonier Valley Veterans Honor Guard will present a service Friday at 7pm in the funeral home.
