Gloria Jane "Janie" Zidak, 77, of Loyalhanna, died Saturday December 23, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 26, 1946 in Ligonier a daughter of Ida Douglas Bowers.
Janie was a member of the Latrobe United Presbyterian Church. For many years she was the secretary for Darlene's Dance Studio. She shared a love of birds, her dog Woody and time with her husband Edward H. Zidak until his passing on May 14, 2023.
She is survived by her daughters; Melissa Schall (Darrell) of Loyalhanna and Lisa Beam (Chad) of Irwin, her sisters; Brenda Miller (Jim) of North Apollo and Beverly Smith of Carlton, Michigan, grandchildren; Jeff Schall (Ashley), Kalen and Krista Schall, Emily Beam (Regis), Alayna and Aiden Beam, two great grandchildren; Oliver and Arthur, two special nieces; Tracy Beacom and Sara Price, a special great great niece Luciana, several other nieces, nephews and her caregiver Betty Manzulich.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry where a service will be conducted Thursday at 11am with her pastor Reverend Ron Durika officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Cemetery.
