Harry James "Sonny" Upholster

Harry J. "Sonny" Upholster, 81 of Latrobe, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday September 15th, 2024.  He was born June 26, 1943, in Latrobe a son of the late Harry J. and Alba J. (Musso) Upholster.  Sonny was retired from Teledyne-Vasco prior to his employment at Walt Disney World, Florida, where he lived for 22 years. He attended St. Rose Catholic Church. Sonny was baptized, married and went to college at St Vincent in Latrobe. Sonny loved to draw, paint and sketch as he had a great talent for painting and recreating cartoon characters.  Some of his enjoyments in life include bowling, art, his dogs and going for rides in his convertible with the top down, with his soulmate and wife Mim. Sonny had a very strong belief in Jesus, and was the kindest, most caring human there was. In addition to his parents Harry is preceded in death by his wife Mary Jo "Mim" (Piantine) Upholster and his sister Sandy Crognale.  He is Survived by his sons Harry "Chip" Upholster, Chris Upholster and Angel Serrano all of Latrobe, one granddaughter Christina Upholster of Newport TN., a brother Terry Upholster of Latrobe and a sister-in-law Margret Denning, who was not only his sister-in-law, but one of his favorite people who he loved so much. Also, many cousins, and several nieces and nephews. 
Family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, from 4 to 7 PM in the McCabe Funeral Home 300 W. Third Ave Derry.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM in St. Rose Catholic Church Latrobe, with Fr. Ronald Maquinana as celebrant.  Entombment will follow in the Mary Mother of Mercy Mausoleum at St. Vincent Cemetery.
