James "Gibby" Gibson

James “Gibby” Gibson, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2025. James was born on July 4, 1952 to George “Skip” and Nancy Gibson in Latrobe. He was preceded in death by his son Ross Gibson, Ross’s mother Denise Gibson, his brother George “Two Gun” Gibson, and his sister Margaret Boyd. He graduated from Ligonier Valley High School in 1970. James is survived by his brother in law William Boyd. He is also survived by his niece Amanda (Barry) Ellenberger; his nephews Jason (Suzanna) Boyd, and Lucas (Alyssa) Boyd. James is survived by his great nephew Zachary Pyle and his great nieces Kimberly Pyle, and Lindsay, Lauren, Brooklyn, and Raina Ellenberger. Additionally he is survived by two great great nephews Gunner Pyle and Greyson Piper. Gibby was a faithful outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with horses. He was also well known for his skill and enjoyment of shooting pool and golfing. Keeping with James’ wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family asks that if you would like to celebrate James’ life to do so by making a donation to the Waterford Fire Hall.
