James Zimmerman Sr. Obituary

James E. Zimmerman Sr., 89, of Ligonier died Tuesday September 11, 2018 in Excela Latrobe Hospital. He was born May 4, 1929 in Waterford a son of the late Alger and Mary Orme Zimmerman.

Jim was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Navy on the USS Albemarle. He was an electrical inspector, a past commander and life member of the Ligonier VFW #734 and member of the Ligonier American Legion. He enjoyed being around family and telling stories about the Navy and hunting.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Bertie Mae Smith Zimmerman.

He is survived by his three sons; James E. Zimmerman Jr. (Patricia) of Ligonier, Steve Zimmerman (Angela) and Larry Zimmerman (Jeannie) all of New Florence. His three daughters; Lorie Porter (Mark) of Saltsburg, Wendy Kenley (Curt) and Penney Hartman (Ray) all of New Florence. 12 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

All services and interment in Menoher Cemetery were private for family.
