Jean E. Welshons

Jean E. Welshons, 89, of Ligonier, died Tuesday June 11, 2024 at her home. She was born June 10, 1935 in Berlin, PA a daughter of the late Howard and Annabelle Maust Brant.
Jean was a member of the Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church and had retired from the Ligonier Valley School District after 30 years of service. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed "adventures" with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Welshons, and four brothers; Jack, Blair, Donald and William Brant.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Sue Welshons (Philip Motz) and Diana Shank (Terry) all of Ligonier, her brother Ronald Brant of Washington State, sisters; Debra Durstine (Rodger) of Delmont, Sharon Graff (Bill) of Homer City and  Faye Growden of Pensacola, FL, granddaughters; Ashley Welshons (Evan Angus) and Amanda Welshons, two great granddaughters Sylvia and Vivian Tuite, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 4-7pm in the McCabe Funeral Home 144 East Main Street, Ligonier where a service will be conducted Saturday at 11am with the Rev. Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Palmer Cemetery.
