John M. Oneufer

John M. Oneufer, 89, of Ligonier, died Saturday December 30, 2023 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was born May 18, 1934 in Homestead, the son of the late John and Helen Pido Oneufer.
John was a former member of the St. John's Russian Orthodox Church. He had retired from the Great American Federal Savings and loan, and found enjoyment from family vacations, walking on the beach, gardening and being outside, his cats and a good joke, and was a
US Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn and a daughter Beth Sanson.
He is survived by his daughters; Laura Tait of Mount Pleasant and Sherye Petry (Joel) of Ligonier, six grandchildren; Nicole, Danielle, Jordan, Micah, Bradley and Olivia and two great grandchildren Dominic and Kiara.
Friends will be received Thursday from 11-1pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier, where his service will be conducted at 1pm. Interment will be made in the St. John's Orthodox Cemetery.
