John Siko Obituary

John A. Siko 97, of Snydertown,  passed away  Thursday October 24, 2024.  He was born April 27, 1927 in Latrobe a son of the late John and Anna Chekan Siko.
John was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Bradenville and was a WW II veteran having served in the US Navy. He had been a lifelong member and supporter of the GCU where he had served as a past president of GCU Lodge 321. After retiring from Toyad Corporation he worked for Gabriels where he enjoyed interacting with many people. John had a strong work ethic, was family oriented, enjoyed gardening and always helping others. He held memberships in the American Legion Post #515, the Slovak Club and the Greek Club.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen Jane O'Donnell Siko, a son David S. Siko, and his three sisters; Mary Soltis, Betty Puskar and Ann Leason.
He is survived by his son John M. "Jay" Siko (Lisa Yasurek) of Snydertown, his daughters; Lisa Gulibon (Thomas) of Souderton, PA and Susie Wajdic (Scott) of Youngstown, his brothers; Joseph Siko (Tina) of Loyalhanna and Paul Siko (Peggy) of Snydertown, three grandchildren; Aaron Gulibon (Amanda), David Gulibon and Nicole Craig, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday from 4-7 pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. The Divine Liturgy will be Tuesday at 10 am in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Bradenville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
