Joy Katherine Simpson Howard, 92, of N. Huntingdon, (formerly of Ligonier), died peacefully Wednesday morning.
She was born December 29, 1930 in West Sunbury, a daughter of the late Louis O. and Anna F. Wylie Simpson.
Joy was member of the Fort Palmer Presbyterian Church. She was employed for 20years as Deli Manager at the Holiday Park Foodland. Following her passion for real estate, Joy worked as an agent for Prudential Preferred, into her 80's
and having received many awards. Having many dear friends in Ligonier she enjoyed sewing,
her Dean Ornish Circle and being a social butterfly.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Ronald W. Howard Sr., a daughter Pamela A. Baker,
a son-in- law Thomas Baker, a grandson Jonathan Lars Huth, her sisters; Carol Simpson-Shaw and Lois Doerr, and her brothers; Louis C. and George F. Simpson.
She is survived by her children; Conrad Donald Huth (Loretta) of Freeport, Daniel L. Huth (Debbie) of Templeton and Ronald W. Howard Jr. (Renee) of N. Huntingdon, her daughters; Patty J. Simpson of Ft. Myers,Florida,
Joy Anne (Punky) Crawford (Roger) of Cowansville and Cindie R. McCracken (Paul) of Ligonier, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren,
four great- great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her beloved "The Little Dog" Murphy.
Friends will be received Friday from 4-7 pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier where a service will be conducted Saturday at 10am.
Interment will follow in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
