Julia F. Chockla

Julia F. Chockla, 89, of Derry passed away Thursday August 21, 2025, at UPMC-East Monroeville. She was born September 12, 1935, in Derry a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Krinock Klym.

Julia was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Derry. She always enjoyed family, cooking, gardening, bird watching, nature hikes, and doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas F. Chockla, sons; Thomas and William, siblings; Anna Irvin, Mary Ann Flowers, John, Tony, Robert and Thomas Klym.

She is survived by her children; Michael A. Chockla of Derry, Janice Shepherd (Michael) of Irwin, Lori Gerthoffer (John) of Greensburg, her brother James Klym of Latrobe, sisters; Dolores Klym of Derry and Cathie Camarote (Dominick) of Latrobe, four grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Monday August 25, from 4-7 pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am at St. Joseph Church, Derry (Everyone please go directly to the church). Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Derry.

The Rosary will be recited Monday at 3:45 pm in the funeral home.
