Kenneth Dean Ankeny "KDA", 71, of Derry, died peacefully Sunday May 17, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 1, 1949 in Latrobe a son of the late Robert and Dorothy Moore Ankeny.
KDA was a USArmy Vietnam Veteran and had been a postal carrier in Derry for many years.
He belonged to the Kingston Club, the Derry Rod & Gun Club and the Derry F.O. E. #1612. He loved sports.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Harriet "June" Coppersmith Ankeny.
Surviving are his companion of many years Sue Bolen, his son Kenneth S. Ankeny (Dana) of Latrobe, his sister Fran Plessinger of Latrobe, his brothers William Ankeny of Latrobe and Robert Ankeny of Norvelt. His grandson Gavin of Latrobe, several nieces and nephews.
All services were private for the family.
McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry was in charge of arrangements.
