Leona Critchfield Smith

Leona Jean Critchfield Smith, 83 of Darlington, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026. She was born April 25, 1942, in Marietta a daughter of the late James and Lottie Mae (Stout) Critchfield. Leona enjoyed playing her guitar and piano. She also liked to sing and liked to cook. Leona is survived by her husband Lewis D. Smith and his 4 daughters, Leona's daughter Betsy Curry of Georgia and her siblings James T. Critchfield (Bridget), Bonnie D. Woods and Sherry E. Critchfield (Jim), four grand daughters, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Leona is preceded in death by an infant son Theron Dale Horner II, one brother and six sisters. At Leona's request there will be no public services, all arrangements and burial in Menoher Cemetery are private and under the direction of McCabe Funeral Home, Ligonier.
