Louis U. Long

Louis U. Long, 79, of Derry passed away Saturday October 5, 2024 in the William Penn Care Center.  He was born June 14, 1945 in Johnstown, a son of the late Norbert P. and Gertrude (Martin) Long.  Lou was a U.S Army Vietnam veteran.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading and camping in Erie.
Lou is survived by his daughters Carol L. Paskovitch (Drew) of Latrobe; Roberta J. Long-LaVigne (Frank) of Mt. Airy, Maryland; a stepson, Scott Procko of Ruffsdale; two sisters, Sr. Mary Norbert of Sisters of Charity, Greensburg and Betty Wechtenhiser of Latrobe; eight grandchildren: Zack, Dani, Jacob, Benjamin, Elijah, Robert, Adrian, and Michael; and many nieces and nephews.
Lou is preceded in death by wives Carol Lee and Emma Jean; brother, Robert; and brother-in-law, Vernon.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 7th at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Whitney at 11:00 am with Father James Podlesny.  Interment will be private.
