On 12/7/23 Margaret Joyce Patterson (Peggy) passed away at home with family and friends by her side. She was born Oct.15/34 in Yatesboro, Pa. the daughter of John R. Patterson & Elda (Sis) Patterson.
The family moved from Yatesboro to Youngstown. Oh. when she was in the first grade & continuing her education in the Youngstown school system. After graduating, she worked for Bell Telephone for 3 years, leaving Bell to attend B-W college, graduating in 1959 & began teaching in the local school system.
She left Youngstown for Washington D.C. working for National Education Assoc. & the D.C. Government. She transferred to the U.S. Department of State serving in D. C. as well as Ouagadougou (Africa) & Amman, Jordon. While serving the foreign posts she enjoyed traveling around to other countries in the area. She retired in 1995.
On her own time, Peggy always enjoyed traveling, which she did as often as possible. She was also enjoyed genealogy, traveling around Pa. to obtain information on the family. She also spent many hours with a friend at the local animal rescue center. Peggy was an avid sports fan, mostly the Pirated & Steelers, & other sports, as long as the aforementioned teams were not on TV.
She is survived by her brother Terry L. . Her other brother, John C. (Jack) died in 2008.She also had 4 nieces Devani McCafferty, Darla Huber, Vicki Patterson & Michele Haynes.
