Mary Lou Brewer

Mary Lou (Marshall) Brewer 84 of Latrobe passed away Thursday April 24, 2025.  She was born March 25, 1941 in the Sibley Hospital in Washington DC, a daughter of the late George Edward and Margaret Lewis (Peterson) Marshall.  Mary was retired as an agent for Howard Hanna Real Estate.  She had worked 40 years as a secretary for the federal and local government.  Mary belonged to several genealogy societies and wrote many genealogy books and was Methodist by faith.  She is survived by her daughter Ricki Lyn Prohaska and husband James Jr. and son W. James Brewer and Wife Lisa; five grandchildren Kaylee Marie Horner (Dale), Emily Ann Gruver (Keith) Michael James Brewer, Tristan Joseph Brewer and Jacob Anthony Brewer; four great grandchildren; Allieonna Bella Horner, Dallin James Horner, Corbin Timothy Horner and Emery Kaylyn Gruver, several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Walter James Brewer, a son Michael Charles Brewer,  a great grandson Finn Oliver Gruver, a half brother George Edward Marshall Jr., step mother Charlotte Mae (Shipman) Marshall and nephew Steven Marshall.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 11-1 pm at the McCabe Funeral Home 300 West Third Avenue, Derry where her service will be conducted at 1 pm. Interment will be made in the Hillside Cemetery.
