Mary Lou Gantz

Mary Louise Gantz, 94, of Ligonier died Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in UPMC-Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.  She was born March 11, 1928 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late C. Howard and Helen McNair Hook.  She was raised in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  She graduated from Chatham College and received her MS degree from Duquesne University.  She also earned a certificate in French studies from the University of Grenoble, France.  She spent several years abroad with the U.S. Foreign Service.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin E. Gantz in 2006.  She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Duquesne Club and Rolling Rock Club.  Burial will be in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were handled by McCabe Funeral Home of Ligonier.
