Mary J. Maffe

Mary J. Maffe, 106, of Derry, died peacefully Tuesday November 14, 2023, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born February 11, 1917 in Lucerne Mines a daughter of the late Anthony and Sophie Postosky Rellick.
Mary lived a long and happy life and had a special love for all children and family. She had been a Cub Scout and Brownee Leader when her children were young and always enjoyed cooking, baking and being in her flower garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Felix, brothers; Mike and John Rellick, sisters; Catherine, Rose Marie and Helen Rellick , Ann Penders and Pauline Boerio, a great granddaughter Mikayla Metcalf and a son-in-law Ron Dell.
She is survived by her son James Maffe (Mitzie) of Ashburn, VA, her daughters; Brenda Dell and Judi Henigin both of Derry, and Diana Lazarchik (Michael Yahner) of Latrobe, sisters; Frances Newcomer of Latrobe and Florence Fleming of Greensburg, brothers; Joseph Rellick of Derry and George (Pete) Rellick (Jean Rose) of Blairsville, grandchildren; James Dell (Beth), Lori Fitzgerald (Phil), Lisa Cogan (Chris) Jeffrey Dell (Sherri), Kimberly Crocker (Bob), Richard Henigin, Brian Henigin (Hallie), Jeff Maffe (Laura) and Todd Maffe (Amanda), great grandchildren; Jessica (Dan), Dalton, Paige (Mason), Emma, Adam (Paige), Kyle, Karly (Eric), Zach, Josh, Samantha, Braden, Jake, Ben and Will, great great grandchildren; Brycen, Caleb, Hurst and Holt, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 4-7pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry where a service will be conducted Saturday at 1pm. Interment will be made at Coles Cemetery, Derry.
