Nancy Takacs Obituary

Nancy L. Takacs, 69, of Ligonier, died Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Independence Health System Westmoreland. She was born November 13, 1954 in Latrobe a daughter of the late Louis and Louise Houpt Takacs.
Nancy was a 1973 graduate of Ligonier Valley High School, had been an avid softball player
and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary to the Ligonier VFW and American Legion. She was a big Steeler fan and loved picnics and parties with her friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Hayes and her two brothers Louis and Larry Takacs.
She is survived by her sister Mary Jo Smith (Nathan) of Ligonier, a niece Katie Smith, a nephew Lou Takacs and several good friends.
Friends will be received Friday from 4-7pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 144 East Main Street, Ligonier where a service will be conducted Saturday at 10am with the Reverend Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating. Interment will be made in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.
