Paul James "Jim" Klym, 79, of Latrobe passed away Tuesday June 16, 2026, in the Hempfield Manor, Greensburg. He was born January 16, 1947, in Derry a son of the late Anthony and Anna (Krinock) Klym.
Jim was a class of 1964 Derry Arrea High School graduate where he excelled in basketball and baseball being known for being a good pitcher. He was a proud US Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam and then having a career with IBM.( A very opinionated but caring man who always cared about his family.) Golfing, bird watching, playing the lottery and cutting grass gave him great enjoyment.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers; John, Tony, Robert and Thomas Klym and three sisters; Julia Chockla, Anna Irvin and Mary Ann Flowers.
He is survived by his son PJ Klym (Heather), daughters; Jaime Paddock (Adam) and Ashlye Cheely (Brandon), grandchildren; Eric, Madison, Andrew, Emily, Thalia and Leo, sisters; Dolores Klym and Cathie Camarote (Dominick), numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 4-7 pm in the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry.
Memorials may be made to a Veterans organization of ones choice.
The Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard will present a service Friday at 6:45 pm in the funeral home.
