Robert Joseph DeMayo Obituary

Robert Joseph "Rob" DeMayo, 59, of Greensburg, died Sunday June 30, 2024 at Independence Health System Latrobe. He was born February 16, 1965 in Newark, NJ a son of Florence "Flo" Mancino DeMayo of Manchester, NJ and the late Ronald DeMayo Sr.
Rob was a member of St. Bruno Roman Catholic Church in Greensburg. He graduated from David Brearley Regional High School in Kenilworth, NJ where he excelled in football as quarterback, baseball as shortstop and basketball. Following high school he graduated from Montclair State University. Rob was a guy with a big personality and a big heart who showed his love for kids with special needs by working at Clelian Heights School and coaching the Special Olympics Basketball team. For many years he owned and operated Nicky's Dairy Delite in Derry and had coached the Derry Area girls varsity basketball team.
Many of his greatest joys in life came from family, friends, golfing, fantasy football, fishing, horse racing, traveling and being a Philadelphia Flyers hockey fan.
In addition to his mother he is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 30 years Heather A. Wilkinson DeMayo, his sons Nicholas J. DeMayo (Gabby) of Alexandria, VA and Aaron R. DeMayo of Greensburg, his brother Ronald DeMayo Jr. of Oxford, NJ, his sister Dawn Marie DeMayo of Somerville, NJ, his father-in-law Joseph W. Wilkinson (Imelda) of Derry, his brother in law Ross Wilkinson (Gina) of Philadelphia, his nieces and nephews: Morgan, Ronnie, Emma, Luke and Lola, several cousins and his pets Jessie and Zoe.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 6-8 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 am at the St. Vincent Basilica. Interment will follow in the Unity Cemetery.
