Ronald Hood Obituary

Ronald George Hood, 70, of Blairsville, passed away Friday August 2, 2019 at his home. He was born March 19, 1949 in Sewickley Pa, a son of the late George W. and Elizabeth (Giles) Hood. Ronald owned and operated Hood's Plumbing and Heating for 40 years. He served as Borough Manager and Municipal Authority manager of Blairsville and was recently employed by the Latrobe True Value. He enjoyed camping with his family, woodworking, problem solving and working with his hands.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife Janelle (Edmundson) Hood, two sons Matthew Hood and Andrew Hood (Jenelle) of Wellsville PA, three step-sons Cameron Willforth, Chad Schultz, Chase Schultz and one step-daughter Kacie Schultz, two brothers Gary Hood (Barbara) of Marion Center, Timothy Hood (Anita) of Indiana, Pa a sister Betsy Sevin (Mark) of Pittsburgh, three grandchildren Aden Hood, Alex and Cole Gruver and two great grandchildren Rayne and Verity Gruver and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Monday August 5, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 at the McCabe Funeral Home, Derry

A funeral service will be held Tuesday August 6 at 11 am in the Blairsville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Timothy Monroe as officiant. Interment to follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry. The Blairsville Military Service Group will conduct a service at the cemetery at noon.
